How to focus your Personal Energy and get great results

and perhaps the tagline to this story should be ‘…or a story of scattered Personal Energy and how I found focus at the end of the day…finally…after resisting all universal signs to the contrary!

I had originally set up this Personal Energy Practice blog using a free blog service offered by my hosting provider.  It was a great start for me, as it cost me nothing extra and enabled me to start to learn the WordPress software.  If you’re not familiar with WordPress, it’s a phenomenon which started to grow in 2003 as a piece of open source software called ‘cafelog’.  For those of you of the non-techical IT persuasion, open-source software means that users are free to modify the code in a collaborative manner.  So over the years, WordPress has grown and can now be installed and used by anyone who wishes to create a blog.  What potential for collaborative communication and change over the web and this planet!

During this summer break I learnt more about the software, and learnt enough to download some copies myself and discover how to run the software with my software host’s database.

Having set up one blog which…so far!  is running smoothly – the Mom On A Spiritual Journey blog – I decided it was time to update this blog from my free software theme (limited) to something that felt more right for an energy practice blog, and that would give me the freedom to make some design choices.  I am not an ‘under the hood/bonnet’ software person e.g. not a programmer (yet!) but I was ready to see what was out there.  In the WordPress world, the collaborative approach has created any number of free themes which talented software coders support.  Think of the ‘Theme’ as the skin around your blog material, creating a look, feel and different systems to access the information.

I have also been learning from a great online collaborator, a guy called Derek Fox (aka The Digital Fox!) who gives excellent online videos to enable you to learn more about WordPress.  I took inspiration from one of his taglines, ‘Clarity, Focus!’ because I noticed straightaway that it was very easy to get into some kind of mind cul-de-sac or energy spiral learning about this work.  I don’t have a lot of time as I’m a home mom, so I really need to focus my time, energy and thoughts to learn more when I sit down at my desk to do this.  Sometimes the intellectual challenges had me walking paths that I ended up not using, but boy, were they interesting!  OK, so finally I’m learning to honor my history and my inner geek!  I was an IT trainer for several years, but initially put that part of me away when I got involved in the world of energy work.  That’ll teach me.

So, ready to choose a theme, I looked, and found a great one straightaway.  It was even at the top of the first list I chose.  The name was perfect for what I want to do, the look was tight, the feel was energetic and very different.  Everything felt right in my gut, and my intuition had taken me straight there.

But, like a lot of the human population, I decided to second-guess all these intuitive ‘hits’ and started looking around…and I found another theme.  Which I thought would be great!  I still thought it would be great even though I started reading all sorts of questions via Google about the problems it bought people who were using it.  Still I tarried and worked on.  My headings wouldn’t look like I wanted, but still I persisted.  A week went by.  My database got corrupt and broke completely.  I had to reupload the wordpress software twice.  Until finally I got it.  This was not the theme for me.

I started afresh and re-uploaded the first theme I had chosen.  And then I found a blog entry from the author of this theme commenting on how he had needed to do work with a client and this other (difficult) theme that I had also been struggling with.  I had to laugh!  The message was even there on the originators blog all along.

So, the name of this theme that you see before you is ‘Graphene’.  From the Physics About web site – “Graphene is a form of carbon. As a material it is completely new – not only the thinnest ever but also the strongest. As a conductor of electricity it performs as well as copper. As a conductor of heat it outperforms all other known materials. It is almost completely transparent, yet so dense that not even helium, the smallest gas atom, can pass through it. Carbon, the basis of all known life on earth, has surprised us once again….

… with graphene, physicists can now study a new class of two-dimensional materials with unique properties. Graphene makes experiments possible that give new twists to the phenomena in quantum physics. Also a vast variety of practical applications now appear possible including the creation of new materials and the manufacture of innovative electronics. Graphene transistors are predicted to be substantially faster than today’s silicon transistors.”

It is basically a one-atom thick material that can hold a charge.  How many more enormous signs from the Universe did I need to see that it was the perfect theme for a Personal Energy Practice blog??  Several, apparently!

So, thank you to Khairul Syahir for this elegantly executed theme.

So, how to focus your Personal Energy and get great results with your chosen project?

What I learnt from this instance is…

  • get in touch with your gut ‘feel’.  Does what you are focusing your energy upon feel good to you?
  •  What are the emotions that accompany the feelings?  Is there a sense of wellbeing, flow, and happiness, or is there stress and a sense of fighting against the flow?
  • Pay attention to significant universal signs that are a match with your belief system.  I have spent several years studying a new and different form of energy work that finds many of it’s answers from quantum physics…so even the name of this theme was a huge, glaring sign!
  • Do you really like what you are focusing your Personal Energy upon?  Can you sense many potentials from choosing this project/route/outcome?  Be extremely sensitive to any feelings of stress, if they are there, then take some deep breaths and step back.
  • Is this feeling coming from your core energy or center (the core energy runs from above your head to below your feet using the model of the Universal Calibration Lattice, or UCL®).
  • Is there instead pressure coming from the ‘outside’ to make a choice?  E.g. other aspects of your energy anatomy, like your personality, or ego (e.g. ‘they have that theme, so perhaps I should have it, too)…or even pressure from another person?  That feeling of pressure may indicate that the timing isn’t right.
  • If there is resonance within your core, you will feel at peace, if there is dissonance, you won’t.
  • These signals will move you towards a clear ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘maybe’.  I was taught by Joseph Riggio many years ago (originator of the Mythoself™ Process) that these responses are body-based, you can learn or re-learn to recognize them clearly and very quickly over time.

As quickly as the social media revolution is moving, so are open source programs like WordPress.  Graphene could be a material which helps move the technology supporting this revolution along even more quickly.  If you are monitoring anything regards the social media revolution, you know it is shifting quickly, so quickly that I’m guessing even the people moving at the forefront of this new energetic collaboration are running to keep up.   We are also moving through a revolutionary shift in the human consciousness movement alongside this media revolution…or is it one and the same thing…simply the same collaborative energy in a different form?

As I’ve learnt to honor that part of my history once again which loves to use software and create new and different ways of doing things I’m beginning to wonder if – who’da thunk it – technology will give us the key to a new level of worldwide collaboration and human consciousness.  Maybe Twitter isn’t just about ‘Bieber fever’ – but a new way to create a divine matrix of human collaborators?  What potentials could you put out via the internet today…when you focus your Personal Energy?
